For casting directors and producers

How casting from the Swedish Actors roster works: finding the right actor, shortlisting, and getting in touch. Questions not answered here? Contact us.

Contacting actors

How do I contact an actor?

Use Contact on the actor’s profile. Casting enquiries go directly to the actor, or to their management where they have it; each profile says which. There is no agent in between forwarding your mail.

Can the agency help with availability checks or self-tapes?

Yes. For an availability check across several actors, a self-tape request or help with paperwork, contact the agency: info@swedishactors.se or +46 709 91 99 69.

How are fees and contracts agreed?

Fees and terms are agreed per production with the actor or their management. For some of our actors, negotiations are handled by Jens Göthberg, a lawyer in the entertainment industry since 2002.

Does it cost anything to search the roster?

No. Browsing profiles, the AI casting search, shortlists and contacting actors are free for casting directors and producers.

Finding the right actor

How do I find actors who speak a particular language?

Use the English-speaking, German-speaking and French-speaking pages, or filter the roster by language. Every language is shown with the level the actor declared.

What do the language levels mean?

Native is the actor’s mother tongue. Fluent means they speak it fluently but it is not their mother tongue. Professional is a working level; conversational means everyday conversation. Levels are self-declared and never rounded up, and the language pages leave out beginners.

How does playing age work?

Playing age is the age range an actor can credibly play, and it is shown on every profile. When you filter by playing age, an actor matches if their range overlaps the one you ask for.

Can I describe a role instead of filtering?

Yes. Paste the brief into the AI casting search. It shortlists actors from the roster and says plainly where someone falls short of the brief, for example a language at a lower level than you asked for. Use it as a starting point, not a replacement for auditions.

How do I share a shortlist with my director or producer?

Star the actors you like. Your selection follows you around the site, and Share Selection copies one link that opens the whole shortlist.

Do the actors have showreels and CVs?

Most profiles open with a showreel, and every profile lists the actor’s credits by medium, with a Print CV button for a printable version.

About the roster

Who are the actors, and how are they selected?

Swedish actors, actresses and comedians working in film, TV and theatre. New members are admitted by a jury of actors, comedians and directors. Browse all talent, or the productions several of them have worked on together.

Where are the actors based?

Most live in Stockholm; a few are based in Malmö, Gothenburg and Jönköping. Each profile shows where.

Do your actors work in international productions?

Many do. Their credits include productions for Netflix, Viaplay and Amazon Prime Video alongside SVT and TV4, and almost all of them work in English. The English-speaking page shows each actor’s level.

How current are the profiles?

Actors update their own profiles through a personal link, and changes appear on the site within moments. The agency also sends update requests to the whole roster.

Who runs Swedish Actors?

Swedish Actors was founded in Stockholm in 2021 by Fredrik Sjöberg, founder and agent. Read more about us.

Can AI assistants and tools search the roster?

Yes. llms.txt describes the site for AI agents: every profile is available as markdown, and two search APIs return actors for a brief, one advisory and one with strict filters.

Still have a question?

Casting enquiries go directly to the actor: use Contact on their profile. For availability checks, self-tapes or contracts, the agency can help: info@swedishactors.se · +46 709 91 99 69.

Have a specific role? Describe it to the AI casting search.
